Reverend Dr. Anthony Tate is a 1977 graduate of Miami Jackson Senior High School.

While a student at Miami Jackson, he was a peer counselor. Additionally, he was enrolled in the OJT
(On the Job Training) Program and was gainfully employed as a file clerk at Youth Hall.

After graduation from high school, Rev. Tate entered the Army Branch of the United States Military where he served from 1978 until 1984. While in the military he held the positions of Military Police Officer, Patrol
Supervisor and Desk SGI.

After leaving the military, Rev. Tate’s life’s path led him to ministry. He attended Bible College and received a Bachelor’s Degree. Seeking to further his knowledge for ministry, he attended Jacksonville Theological Seminary where he earned a Master’s Degree and a Doctor of Ministry Degree.

With this strong education foundation, he accepted the “call” to Pastor and is currently the Pastor of New
Resurrection Community Church, a “call” he has honored since 2008.

Rev. Tate says that he strives, “to be an energetic and a positive mouthpiece as a dedicated Pastor, Community Activist and Leader for the people in the community to make everlasting contributions that will build and enhance their lifestyle continually.”

To achieve this goal, in addition to serving as Pastor, Rev. Tate is presently a Board Member of the Community Youth Against Violence, a member of the Miami-Dade Branch of NAACP where he serves as C0-Chair of Religious Affairs and a member of the Circle of Brotherhood, where he serves as Executive Secretary. He also serves as a mentor for the 5000 Role Model Program and as Chaplain for the Division of Juvenile Justice. He is a former President of People United Leading the Struggle for Equality (P.U.L.S.E.)
